Thank you Elsberry FFA for hosting Farm Safety Day. Our students learned so many things during their visit last Friday.
In our 4th grade classroom we have a brag wall. Students can put art work, assignments, tests, or scores up that they are proud of. I have quite the group of artists. Seeing them proud of their work makes me delighted! -Mrs. Yates
Kindergarten is a milestone year in elementary school. Mrs. Gremaud has been teaching kindergarten at Clarence Cannon Elementary for 7 years. She hopes her students remember feeling safe and loved with her.
Save the date for the Elsberry FFA Trunk or Treat. It will be Sunday, October 30. More details and times will be shared closer to the date.
Mrs. Kaimann's class made Chica Chica trees last week during foodie fun Friday. Students practiced listening to and following directions, as well as trying new foods.
Let's be Team Players on Evaluate Day! Dress in your favorite team attire on Friday, October 7.
Work first, then play is something you might hear one of our staff members say during the day. Mrs. Marshall's class always enjoys the playground.
Learning can take multiple repetitions. One way third graders recently practiced place value was by playing tic-tac-toe in Mrs. Speers' classroom.
Mrs. Marshall uses flashlight Friday to make reading more exciting! What a great way to encourage reading for enjoyment.
In Mrs. Robinson's classroom students are learning about flexible vs rigid thinking. Friday they were only given a specific set of materials (no glue, tape, etc) and had to use their “flexible thinking” to build a bridge.
Coach Edwards is always on the go. She is one of the few staff members who works in all three of our buildings in addition to being a coach. Welcome to Elsberry!
What are teachers doing today at CCE? We are participating in our first session of LETRS training. This is a two year commitment for our staff.
LETRS teaches the skills needed to master the fundamentals of reading instruction—phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, writing, and language.
Fourth graders made scientific observations of an object in motion to provide evidence that a pattern can be used to predict a future motion. They made Twist-O-Matics and worked with a partner to make observations and predictions.- Mrs. Yates
Our Boys and Girls Basketball coaching staff are starting a 6-week program to teach the fundamentals of basketball to 4th, 5th, and 6th grade students. Throughout the 6 weeks, players will learn the fundamentals of the game to prepare them for school paid tournaments and guidance for teams interested in joining a CNR league. All of our CNR teams will be coached by parents that are going to be instructed by our coaches with skills training, drills and practice plans. With your help, we feel we can launch a successful youth basketball program. Listed below are the dates for the 6-week program.
October 1st
October 8th
October 15th
October 22th
November 5th
November 12th (play during the red and white scrimmage) @ 5pm

Thank you Lincoln County Old Threshers for making our school part of the tractor parade route. The students were so excited!
Miss Hammett played Follow, Follow with Mrs. Wilch's kindergarten class during counseling time to practice listening and following directions.
Mrs. Patton’s class used a grab bag game to sort main ideas and details. Interactive lessons are an effective way to engage students.
All of our students start their day with community circle. This is part of our Ruler program. Community circle gives all students and teachers a chance to build rapport and relationships. What is your child's favorite part of community circle?
This is what Ms. Duvall had to say:
"Community circle is one of my personal favorite times of the day! The kids talk about feelings and we learn so much about each other! 💜"
