The fourth graders at CCE enjoyed a field trip to the Magic House on Thursday, April 20. The Magic House offers hands-on learning experiences for children of all ages that spark imagination, pique curiosity, enhance creativity and develop problem-solving skills.
Kari Shipley, the elementary secratary, is in her 12th year at the ESD. She hopes students remember her as a kind and caring adult in their life. Many of us will remember her flair for decorating, celebrating, and her plethora of dancing solar toys.
Happy Administrative Professionals Day! We are so lucky to have all of you brightening up our offices and our days!
May is a busy and very important month of school. The Missouri Assessment Program, most often called M.A.P., is a test given to all students in grades 3-8 in Missouri. Our third and fourth grade students will take both ELA and Math. Our kindergarten and first grade students take the OLSAT test. Second grade students take the Terra Nova. All testing occurs in May. Watch for more information from your child's teacher.
Students in grades 4-6 had the opportunity to attend Truman's Children's Literature Festival on Friday, April 21 in Kirksville, MO. Last week Delta Dental presented "Land of Smiles" to our students. The Land of Smiles® educational program is a fun, age-appropriate show that teaches children in about good oral health care. The Land of Smiles experience follows Captain Super Grin℠, as he defeats his nemesis, Caz Cavity℠, with a little help from his sidekicks, Terri Tooth Fairy℠ and Toothpick℠. Throughout the adventure, students learn the importance of brushing teeth twice a day, flossing, eating healthy foods and visiting the dentist regularly. Thank you Nurse Hatcher for scheduling this event for our students.
