I was able to attend the Elevate your Classroom conference in Nashville this June and it was AMAZING! I learned so much new content on how to improve small group centers, morning meeting time and hands on math activities. I attended sessions about mindfulness in the classroom and the science of reading. Both of those sessions added to what I have already been doing in my classroom. There were 3 fantastical inspiring keynotes by Gerry Brooks, Ron Clark and Mr. Greg from the Kindergarten Smorgasbord. I'm hopeful to be able to attend next year.

The Missouri 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline has launched a new website: www.missouri988.org. The site provides information for anyone who may be experiencing a mental health, suicide, or substance use crisis.
The newly designated 988 phone number went live nationwide on July 16, 2022. Since that time, it has routed thousands of individuals to local, trained crisis specialists at Missouri’s 988 centers. The 988 crisis line connects anyone experiencing a mental health, suicide, or substance use crisis to compassionate, accessible care and support, available 24/7. Support is free and confidential.
Summer school includes a lot of hands on creativity and problem solving in the afternoons.
Summer School Menus for the first two weeks. Once again this summer breakfast and lunch are free for all students through the Summer Food Service Program. The SFSP is administered by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services and funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
We encourage parents to be informed about the variety of tobacco products on the market. Currently products include electronic cigarettes, little cigars, smokeless products, sweet candy flavors, and new products designed to hide addiction in plain sight. Products are dangerous and deceptive and don't look anything like a pack of cigarettes.
DESE is partnering with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) on a statewide campaign, “Tobacco is Changing”, to educate parents about the different candy-flavored tobacco products tempting kids into addiction.
