Why do math teachers always celebrate Pi Day? Pi (often represented by the lower-case Greek letter π), one of the most well-known mathematical constants, is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. For any circle, the distance around the edge is a little more than three times the distance across. Mrs. Cody's class created a visual representation of π.

Introducing the 2025 EMO Scholar Bowl Champs! To say that I am proud of this group would be an understatement. We had a great first three rounds. They went 3-0 and averaged 380 points per game, which earned us a number 1 seed going into finals. We beat Bowling Green in the Semi-Finals and faced Wright City in the finals. We knew that it would be tough. We came into the match 14-1 on the season. The one loss? Wright City. We were down by 80 at half, but we came back. On the last question, it was Elsberry 290 and Wright City 280. Wright City answered the tossup (290-290). Now, onto the bonus questions. They answered the first bonus correct to go up 290-300. We both missed the second bonus, but we got bonus rebound the third question to tie the game. It came down to sudden death. The first team to answer a toss-up correctly were EMO Conference Champs. Wright City buzzed in first, but missed the answer. Mallory Steen, senior, buzzed in for a rebound and win!!!! The crowd went wild and charged the court. It was mayhem. Just joking. Everyone took a heavy breath and politely clapped. I'd like to give a special shoutout to our All-Conference individual members. Mallory Steen 53.33 points per game Calum Waller 43.33 points per game Jude Albregts 40 points per game I ESPECIALLY want to recognize Calum and Jude's sportsmanship. They were left out of the standings. Our team all knew that it was inaccurate, but they were perfectly willing to wait for a replacement medal instead of pulling away recognition of others. To me, they are both the epitome of what scholar bowl should be: a recognition of the scholars. From: Mr. Joe Hunter, Quiz Bowl Coach
