WATCH D.O.G.S. ® (Dads Of Great Students) is an innovative father involvement, educational initiative of the National Center For Fathering. It began in 1998 in a single school in Springdale, Arkansas and has since grown into a nationally recognized program that has brought hundreds of thousands of fathers and father figures into our nation’s classrooms and hallways. WATCH D.O.G.S. ® has created millions of “in school” volunteer hours and continues to have a tremendously positive impact on the educational process. Today more than 2,811 schools in 46 states plus DC participate in WATCH D.O.G.S. ®

There are 2 goals of the Watch D.O.G.S. program. 1.) To provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important., and 2) To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.

This is Clarence Cannon Elementary's 5th year participating in the WATCH D.O.G.S. program and it becomes more and more successful each year. We have at least one WATCH D.O.G. volunteering in the classroom most days of the week and last year we had as many as 5 WATCH D.O.G.S. in classrooms on one day!!!! We appreciate the dedication and support of all of our WATCH D.O.G.S. and we encourage you to become one as well!
